day 1: Agadir – Agdez
Our driver will meet you in Agadir at the airport or at your hotel. T start our 4 days Agadir Sahara tour head across the Antarctic mountains and leave the Atlantic coast behind. Some of the towns you pass through have important handicrafts and natural produce; in Talioune you will find the capital of Moroccan saffron and in Taznakht some of the best typical handmade carpets in the region. You will then proceed to the Draa Valley, which stretches between Agdz and the remote sands of the Sahara. In Agdes you will spend the night with dinner and breakfast.
day 2: Agdez – Merzouga
From Agdes you travel east through endless countryside and kasbah villages to Risani, the last outpost of the desert people, where you can do some shopping. The road turns to the south and you will start to get a glimpse of red dunes as you enter the Sahara. Your camels will be waiting for you in the small town of Merzouga. After preparing yourself, you will cross the dunes to your camp in the desert where you will spend the night with dinner and breakfast. Local music will be played around the campfire.
Day 3: Merzouga – Ouarzazate
A staff member will wake you up early to watch the stunning sunrise over the desert, a moment you won’t forget. After breakfast, we’ll ride camels back to Merzouga and start our journey. We’ll travel through palm groves, kasbahs, and mud villages, making our way to Tinghir. Here, you’ll visit the beautiful Todra Gorge, a 300-meter-high canyon with clear waters. On the way back, we’ll stop at the Dades Valley to see the “fingers of monkey” rock formations. We’ll also pass through the Valley of Roses, known for rose oil, where we’ll enjoy lunch. Then, we’ll continue to Skoura and Ouarzazate, where we’ll spend the night.
day 4: Ouarzazate to Marrakech
After breakfast, you’ll have the chance to explore one of the main kasbahs and visit the Atlas Studios. Ouarzazate is often called the “Hollywood of Africa” because many famous movies have been filmed here. Next, you’ll visit Ait Ben Haddou with a local guide. This historic fortress offers breathtaking views and was once a major stop for caravans bringing salt to Timbuktu. Movies like Gladiator were filmed here. Afterward, you’ll cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass, which reaches 2,260 meters.
