3 Hours Before Flight Time
After breakfast, we’ll leave Ouarzazate in a 4×4 and drive to the Valley of Roses via Skoura. First, we’ll visit Kasbah Amridil, then head to Boutghrar, a small village near Mgoun Mountain. In the Valley of Roses, we’ll explore local cooperatives and have lunch in Kelaat M’Gouna. Along the way, we’ll pass ancient Kasbahs and enjoy the Dades Valley’s stunning views. We’ll spend the night in Dades.
After breakfast, we leave Dades for Merzouga via Tinghir and Erfoud. We’ll stop at Ziz Valley for photos, visit the fossil museum in Erfoud, and have lunch in Khamlia with traditional music. Back at the hotel, camels will take you on a 1-hour ride to a Berber camp. Enjoy the night under the stars by a warm fire.
After breakfast, we’ll drive to Khamlia, a small desert village near Erg Chebbi’s big dunes. We’ll visit a Berber home and enjoy Gnawa music. Then, we’ll explore Rissani, a town famous for its lively market full of spices, crafts, and souvenirs. You’ll try Medfouna, a tasty Moroccan pizza. Finally, we’ll head back to Merzouga for the night.
After breakfast and a breathtaking sunrise, you mount your camel and glide across the golden dunes to Merzouga, where your 4×4 awaits. The journey to Zagora takes you through Taouz, home to ancient Roman rock engravings, and the vibrant villages of Khamlia and Ouzina, each brimming with culture and charm. You pause at the serene oases of Ramlia and descend through Oued Ziz, following the historic Paris-Dakar route, where rocky tracks and dry wadis paint a stark yet stunning landscape. A picnic lunch in Oued Ziz offers a moment to savor the desert’s raw beauty. By evening, you arrive in Zagora, where the comfort of a Riad welcomes you, and the day’s adventures linger in your dreams.
After breakfast, we leave Zagora and wind through the lush Draa Valley, stopping to explore the charming village of Ait Saoun and the historic Tamnougalt Kasbah. Along the way, the iconic Kasbahs of Taourirt and Aït Ben Haddou rise like ancient sentinels, their timeless beauty telling stories of Morocco’s rich heritage. As we reach Ouarzazate, the “gateway to the Great South,” we’re greeted by a city steeped in cinematic history, its landscapes immortalized in countless films.
