Overview:
The Atlas Mountains are the tallest mountains in North Africa, with Mount Toubkal reaching 4,165 meters above sea level. These big mountain ranges are split into three sections: the Central Atlas (north of Azilal), the Anti-Atlas (south of Marrakech to Merzouga), and the High Atlas (between Marrakech and Ouarzazate). The area is great for mountain biking, hiking, and photography. The Atlas Mountains offer hiking paths for all skill levels, and if you prefer not to hike, mules are available in the villages for a ride. Authentic Berber villages provide charming Moroccan stays in traditional homes, along with local guides to help you explore.
Imlil is a small Berber village with numerous hotels and restaurants, located about 70 km from Marrakech. It is the last large city before the Atlas Mountains and the departure point for excursions to Toubkal and its surroundings. check our tours from Marrakech
Excursion from Marrakech to Imlil:
Our driver will pick you up from your riad/hotel to srart our excursion from Marrakech to Imlil we head towards the Atlas mountains. There is always time to explore the natural surroundings of the Moroccan mountains, stopping along the way for photos against a backdrop of beautiful stunning landscapes that change from season to season. Arriving in Imlil, the village below Mount Toubkal, we meet the mules and begin the 30-minute climb. Later we hike to the small waterfalls of Imil, where fresh orange juice awaits!
Once again, we’ll travel by mule to our guesthouse, which is simple but offers stunning views. Enjoy a delicious Tagine with mint tea, and experience the warm hospitality of the Berber people.
After lunch, you’ll take a 30-minute walk with your guide back to the center of Imlil. Then, we’ll head to Lala Takerkust by car.
