day 1: Ouarzazat – Tamngoult
We begin our 4-day desert tour from Ouarzazate to Chegaga. In the morning, we leave Ouarzazate and visit the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. After lunch, we drive through the Draa Valley toward Agdez, crossing the Little Atlas. We have dinner and spend the night in a riad at the old Kasbah de Tamnougalt.
day 2: Tamngoult – Muhamid
The next morning, we explore the Kasbah of Tamnougalt. Then, we take a jeep caravan to the Draa Valley, following the old caravan route. We have lunch in Zagora. In the afternoon, we visit the Koran Library in Tamagrut. After that, we cross the Bani Mountains to Muhamid for dinner and stay overnight in a nomadic bivouac.
day 3: Muhamid – Chegaga
The next morning, we start with a 1-hour camel ride before leaving Mhamid for the Chegaga dunes. We’ll travel 47 km through deserts, rivers, and various landscapes. Once we arrive in Chegaga, we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner accompanied by traditional Saharan music. Afterward, we’ll spend the night in a cozy nomadic camp under the stars.
day 4: Chegaga – Ouarzazate
After a traditional breakfast, we cross the small sand dunes and black gravel plains of Lak Iriki by jeep, then we take the tarred road to the village of Foum Zguid and visit a Berber carpet weaving workshop made by the women of the surrounding villages of Taznakt.
