Casablanca is a beautiful city in Morocco, well-known for its connection to the classic film of the same name, which has shaped many visitors’ ideas of Morocco and the Middle East. The city’s airport, which handles most international flights, makes it a great starting and ending point for your Moroccan adventure.
Casablanca day trip
We begin our Excursion in Casablanca by visiting the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco. Built in 1993 with public funds, it’s a national symbol. Standing as the second-tallest mosque in the world, its design is unique. Located by the ocean, it’s the only mosque in Morocco that allows foreign visitors. The mosque’s stunning interior and exterior decorations will surely amaze you.
Next, we’ll head to the Casablanca waterfront, where you can relax at a terrace café with a view of the ocean and admire the beautiful villas. On our way to the medina, we’ll drive through the upscale “Swiss Quarter” of the city.
We’ll visit a palace in the Moorish style, known for its unique design. The walk through the medina ends at the square where the royal palace stands. Afterward, we’ll head to Mohamed V Square, where you’ll see the impressive buildings of the French Ambassador, a lovely fountain, and important government buildings.
